APPARATUS FOR CUTTING WIRE BY BLANKS Russian patent published in 2004 - IPC

FIELD: equipment for measured-length cutting of wire material, possibly manufacture of steel chopped shots used for shot blasting and shot throwing type cleaning of articles, for their surface hardening and so on. SUBSTANCE: apparatus includes successively mounted on housing: uncoiler; drawing rollers and cutting mechanism in the form of paired rolls with lengthwise cutters arranged uniformly along circumference. Cutting mechanism is joined with drawing rollers through system of idle gear wheels and pinions. Lengthwise cutters are mutually shifted by pitch half and they have rectangular recesses and dents for realizing shear deformation. Diameter of cutter dents exceeds diameter of drawing rollers by value ΔD = D_p•ε, where Dp - diameter of drawing drive roller, ε-percentage elongation of wire. EFFECT: enlarged functional possibilities due to making blanks by cutting wire material with low and high strength values, enhanced operational reliability of apparatus due to removing cut blanks out of recesses of cutters at high efficiency and at increased strength of working tools. 4 dwg
