FIELD: plating. SUBSTANCE: metal electrode with built in thermocouple is dipped in compliance with invention into working bath with molten electrolyte. Electrochemical difference of potentials related to different solution tension between solid and liquid phases in boundary layer and formation of double electric layer emerges between electrolyte frozen on surface of electrode and its liquid melt. With melting of scum area of layer diminishes and therefore electrochemical difference of potentials decreases. Maximum change of fall of potential difference takes place close to melting temperature of electrolyte. EFFECT: enhanced authenticity of determination of liquidus temperature of electrolyte melts in working bath. 2 dwg
