FIELD: electrical power engineering. SUBSTANCE: method can be employed to establish distance to point of single-phase short-circuit in distribution networks of radial structure. Proposed method is based on recording and analysis of voltage in faulty phase across buses of supply station. Above- mentioned analysis is so carried out that recorded voltage in initial moment of single-phase short-circuit is approximated by polynomial of second degree. Then modulus of maximum value of derivative of voltage at start of approximation section is found, normalized with respect to disruptive voltage and distance to point of single-phase short-circuit is established by computed dependence of distance to point of single-phase short-circuit on maximum of modulus of normalized derivative of voltage for particular line in given network. EFFECT: development of simple method establishing distance to point of single-phase short-circuit while connection in radial distribution network is alive. 6 dwg
