FIELD: flash welding, possibly welding articles with large cross section areas in different branches of machine engineering. SUBSTANCE: method comprises steps of changing according to predetermined routines feed rate of movable plate of machine and voltage; acting upon speed rate due to changing welding-current feedback coefficient; using as control parameter value of energy generated on contacts in spark gap between welded parts; discretely changing voltage for each preset flash interval whose duration depends upon increment of real mean speed of shortening parts during previous flash period; sustaining predetermined value of shortening parts at level less than Vn during the whole flash period. Predetermined flash interval corresponds to shortening of parts by value of mean spark gap between them. EFFECT: possibility for stabilizing welding process due to stable heating of welded parts, stable high quality of welded seams even at fluctuation of mains voltage.
