FIELD: metallurgy; magnesium refining furnaces. SUBSTANCE: proposed magnesium refining furnace has roof, casing with lined bath and electrodes where bell with branch pipes and chamber is mounted and funnels for introduction of initial magnesium and discharge of refined magnesium. Bath and bell are cylindrical in shape and are mounted coaxially; bell is provided with partition whose height is 0.5-0.8 of height of bell; it forms labyrinth together with wall of chamber; funnel for discharge of refined magnesium is mounted after labyrinth in central branch pipe of bell. EFFECT: increased output of furnace; improved quality of magnesium. 1 dwg
