FIELD: mining industry equipment, particularly for fire-fighting in caved worked-out areas of coal mines. SUBSTANCE: method involves two-stage processing of caved coal massif. The first stage includes pumping halogenated active foam containing up to 10 % of microcapsulated halon into caved loosened massif. The second stage involves feeding mixture of sodium silicate, chloride of lime, foam agent and water of the following ratio: 5-7 mas%, 2-6 mas%, remainder, correspondingly; pumping mixture of flue ash and ash-and-slag materials with concentration of up to 30 vol%, which is used as filling agent with the purpose of active barrier monolithic screen creation; generating volumetric foam shield across fire gas motion path out of underground operating mine tunnels. EFFECT: increased efficiency due to creation of stable gas-proof envelope around fire site; prevention of heat generation and volatile product emission and, as result, increased explosion safety. 2 cl, 1 dwg
