FIELD: protection of metals against corrosion. SUBSTANCE: tested specimen and specimen with known kind of chromate coat on zinc coat are subjected in corrosion chamber to effects of salt fog at temperature of 50±1 C and wind with velocity of 2.7 m/s in the course of 12 h. They are subjected to ultraviolet radiation and holding in chamber in the course of 12 h. Loss of mass by both specimens is determined. Straight lines which crossing points makes it possible to establish protective capability of chromate coat on zinc coat are drawn in certain manner is coordinate system " loss of mass ( g )- time ( days ) " and effective protective capability is computed with the help of proposed relation. EFFECT: improved evaluation of protective capability of chromate coats on zinc coats. 2 dwg, 6 tbl
