FIELD: ultrasonic nondestructive tests of materials and articles. SUBSTANCE: magnetic circuit of proposed electromagnetic-acoustic converter comes in the form of hollow cylinder made of magnetic material placed in jacket inside which, in center tie-rod with element showing shape of hemisphere is hinged. It ensures stable position of induction coils in parallel to surface of tested object in combination with air cushion. This element fits snugly to proper internal spherical surface of cylinder and is made fast to metal substrate of nonmagnetic material. Mentioned element has through ducts connected to internal conduit of magnetic circuit which opposite end has holes to supply compressed air, through holes are made in substrate. At least two concentrators are placed inside above-mentioned element. Each concentrator has at least two angular chamfers on side bordering of induction coil. EFFECT: simplified design, diminished weight and dimensions of converter, reduced energy consumption, prolonged service life, precision and reliability of tests. 2 cl, 4 dwg
