METHOD FOR PROCESSING SEA GRASS BY OBTAINING POLYSACCHARIDES OF PECTIC NATURE Russian patent published in 2004 - IPC

Abstract RU 2223663 C1

FIELD: food industry, cosmetology, pharmacology, medicine. SUBSTANCE: at obtaining polysaccharides of pectic nature such as phyllorin and phyllorinate one should apply Phyllospadix iwatensis sea grass as raw material. Phyllorin and phyllorinate are obtained due to impregnating raw material in 0.5-1.5%-formalin solution for 22-24 h at 18-20 C and hydromodulus of 1: 12-1: 15, its washing with water, treating raw material in 0.5- 1.0%-hydrochloric acid solution at solution temperature being 70-85 C for 1-2 h at hydromodulus of 1:15. Obtained raw material is washed with water up to neutral reaction. Then it should be extracted with 0.5-1.0%-ammonium oxalate solution at 50-60 C for 2.5-3.0 h. Then obtained raw material is infused at 18-20 C for 11-12 h to deposit extract with 10.0%-hydrochloric acid solution for 15-20 min by isolating solid phase in the form of phyllorin. Then it should be washed with water at 60-70 C, dehydrated with ethanol and dried at 50-60 C. At obtaining phyllorinate undehydrated phyllorin should be mixed with sodium carbonate at the quantity of 0.2-0.4%/kg gel's crude weight. Mixture is kept for 11-12 h at 18-20 C to obtain phyllorinate. Moreover, it is possible to obtain two polysaccharides of pectic nature: phyllorin and phyllorinate in one and the same technological cycle being of different physicochemical properties, and, also, widened raw material basis due to applying sea grass as new kind of raw material. The present innovation enables to manufacture thickening agents, stabilizers, gel-formers and sorbents out of sea grasses. EFFECT: higher efficiency of processing. 2 cl, 6 ex
