FIELD: organic chemistry, chemical technology. SUBSTANCE: invention relates to method for preparing vinyl acetate from ethylene, acetic acid and oxygen. Method involves interaction of reagents in the presence of catalytic material, in particular, metals of VIII group of periodic table of the elements on carrier in fluidized layer. Ethylene amount in the parent raw mixture is in the range from 60 to 85 mole % and amount of oxygen is 4-15 mole %. Raw contains 10-20 mole % of acetic acid preferably. Process iscarried out under pressure 0.5-20 bars but, preferably, under 6 bars. Vinyl acetate-containing condensing products are separated from flow drawn from reactor and gaseous phase is subjected for chemical treatment or membrane separation to isolate unreacted ethylene. EFFECT: enhanced yield of end product, enhanced selectivity of process. 10 cl, 2 tbl, 5 dwg, 17 ex
