FIELD: papermaking. SUBSTANCE: invention concerns agent enhancing waterproofness of paper in wet state. Preparation of agent comprises, as first stage, interaction of a polyamine or polyaminoamide with a hydrophobic compound to provide polymer with hydrophobic substituents in the form of side chains; second stage, namely interaction of resulting polymer with cross-linking agent to form nitrogen-containing resin; and finally formation of particles via emulsion polymerization of one or more ethylenically unsaturated monomers in presence ofabove- obtained resin. Thin paper manufacture involves addition of resin or agent to aqueous cellulose suspension. EFFECT: enhanced waterproofness of paper. 25 cl, 4 tbl, 12 ex
