FIELD: roasting of materials in fluidized bed; metallurgy; chemical industry; manufacture of building materials. SUBSTANCE: proposed furnace includes roasting zone with gas burner unit, gas distributing grate and under-grate chamber and cooling zone with gas distributing grate and under-grate chamber which narrows downward, bypass unit for removal of lime from cooling zone, air duct connecting the cooling zone with under-grate chamber, gas distributing grate and gas burner unit of roasting zone and air duct connected with cooling zone. Gas distributing grate of cooling zone is made from tubes having perforations in their bottoms and their lateral surfaces are mounted horizontally at clearance equal to 4-12 of maximum sizes of lime being treated. Air duct is connected with cooling zone though perforations of tubes. Inlet of lime bypass unit is located in lower base of its under-grate chamber. EFFECT: modified construction of furnace; reduced consumption of fuel; improved quality and increased yield of lime. 1 dwg, 1 tbl
