COMBINED SHANK Russian patent published in 2004 - IPC

FIELD: agricultural engineering. SUBSTANCE: combined shank has A-hoe, tine-fertilizer guide, wedge and seed guides. Slot in lower part of fertilizer shank is made beveled for forming vertical fertilizer strip in soil and for sowing seeds onto compacted bed. Compacting devices made in the form of convex parts of truncated spherical segments are arranged under seed guides. To prevent soil from getting into fertilizer shank during deepening of combined shank, valve with counterweight is pivotally attached in upper part of shank slot. Safety valves are mounted on seed guides for protecting the latter from clogging with soil. During operation of combined shank, safety valves are opened by angle smaller than 90 deg. Such construction allows fertilizer to be delivered in proper way with respect to sown seeds. Combined shank is used for localizing of bulk mineral fertilizers and for simultaneous soil tillage and seeding of cereal crops. EFFECT: increased efficiency in usage of fertilizer applied and high quality of seed embedding by localizing seeds on compacted seeding bed. 3 cl, 4 dwg
