SHEET BENDING ROLL TYPE MACHINE Russian patent published in 2004 - IPC

FIELD: plastic metal working, possibly manufacture of cylindrical and conical shells in roll type sheet bending machines. SUBSTANCE: sheet bending roll type machine for bending cone and cylinder shells includes upper roll, two lateral rolls, struts secured to framework, guiding roller for supporting edge of blank and unit with roller for clamping blank. Unit for clamping blank is in the form of device for releasing torque of one of lateral rolls (being driving roll). Unit for clamping blank includes split ring and housing on axle secured to struts of machine and parallel relative to axes of lateral rolls. Housing includes upper movable part in which cone gearing is arranged; said cone gearing is connected through cylindrical gear wheel and idle block-pinion with driving pinion. The last is rigidly mounted on cylindrical surface of driving lateral roll. Roller is arranged in movable part of housing spring-loaded by means of tension spring secured to split ring rigidly mounted on axle of housing. Axis of roller is normal relative to axes of lateral rolls. Roller is changeable one; it may have different diameters for providing different revolution numbers of roller and it is mounted with possibility of changing its revolution number.
