SUBSTANCE: gear for mechanical cleaning of sewage includes grate with filtration cloth, racks with teeth anchored on two endless chains mounted on pairs of working, driving and tension gear wheels and drive. Filtration cloth is provided with cross-piece and comes in the form of set of bars which lower working part has arc section which bars are made fast with their end parts to cross-piece. Racks with teeth are additionally fitted with bearing inserts put on each rack between teeth and teeth are installed between bars and protrude above them. According to another variant gear has grate with filtration cloth, racks with teeth anchored on two endless chains mounted on pairs of working, driving and tension gear wheels and drive. Filtration cloth is provided with cross-piece and comes in the form of set of bars which lower part has arc section which bars are made fast to cross-piece with their end parts.
