FIELD: agriculture, tobacco growing. SUBSTANCE: the present innovation deals with postharvesting tobacco treatment. Fermentation process is carried out in hermetically sealed light-transmitting chamber, the water being along the perimeter of its foundation. Moreover, air temperature in this chamber is increased during a day up to 50-60 C and decreased up to 20-25 C, and relative air moisture is decreased during a day up to 50-60% and increased up to 85-90% due to applying the so-called "hothouse effect". Duration of fermentation process corresponds to 15-20 d. This innovation enables to exclude application of heat and electric power during tobacco fermentation.
