FIELD: operation modes of heat exchangers used in boiler rooms and in heating systems. SUBSTANCE: operation method of heat exchanger comprises steps of supplying and discharging liquid flows into slit ducts through respective pairs of inlet and outlet openings of each plate; uniformly distributing flows along width of aid ducts; turbulization of flows due to providing liquid motion on surfaces with regular relief of its concave zones; realizing flow turbulization due to creating liquid flowing on surfaces with regular relief of tetrahedral pyramidal concavities; distributing liquid flow along width of slit duct at least with use of one additional pair of inlet and outlet openings provided in plate for said duct. Plate type heat exchanger includes pack of heat exchanging rectangular plates arranged between pressure plates. Said plates have regular relief of their concavities, grooves for placing additional sealing gaskets, inlet and outlet openings in mutually opposite edges of each plate for mutually alternating slit ducts with mutually opposite motion directions of their liquid and joined respectively by their inlet and outlet collectors. Plates have regular relief in the form of tetrahedral pyramidal concavities arranged in cross rows relative to averaged direction of liquid motion. Adjacent rows of concavities are mutually shifted in direction of said rows by half- spacing between identical points of adjacent concavities. Each plate has at least one additional pair of inlet and outlet openings for each slit duct. EFFECT: enhanced operational efficiency of heat exchanger due to intensified turbulizing of liquid flow in slit ducts and due to increased surface area of each pate. 3 cl, 2 dwg
