FIELD: machine engineering, possibly manufacture of casting molds and soil compaction at building works. SUBSTANCE: pneumatic rammer includes percussion mechanism, casing with handle, sleeve with support unit. Casing is in the form of upper and lower stepped parts engaging respectively with sleeve and support unit. In upper part of casing shock absorbers are arranged at both side relative to support unit. Starting device in the form of handle includes seat with inlet opening having diameter Ds, holder and rod. Rod is provided with duct and outlet openings. In cavity of holder shoulder of rod and valve are arranged. At lengthwise motion upwards and downwards part of rod with diameter dr (Ds is more than dr) may engage with inner surface of holder cavity, shoulder of rod may engage with upper end of holder cavity and valve may engage with edge of inlet opening of seat. EFFECT: enhanced operational reliability of starting small-size device, lowered labor consumption for making rammer. 3 dwg
