FIELD: transport engineering. SUBSTANCE: invention relates to devices aimed at improving riding comfort of vehicles. Proposed fore-and-aft adjuster contains slide on which seat skeleton is secured and longitudinal guides in base to shift slide. Slide mechanism includes lead screw secured in base and arranged with its threaded end to seat backrest skeleton in parallel with guides being coupled with slide by threaded joint. Other end of lead screw is secured in base crossmember. Mechanism contains also adjusting shaft installed across lead screw and forming mechanical coupling with screw. Device has longitudinal guides located on slide to move along longitudinal guides of base. Lead screw is fixed in base crossmember forming threaded joint with nut secured on slide and mechanically connected with adjusting shaft provided with handle by means of worm pair whose wheel is rigidly secured on lead screw, and worm is located on adjusting shaft fitted in trunnions of base. Mechanical coupling of lead screw with adjusting shaft provided with handle can be formed by lantern wheel mechanism whose wheel is rigidly secured on lead screw and cog is located on adjusting shaft installed in base joints. Lead screw with threaded end and guides are arranged with slope α to side of seat backrest skeleton. EFFECT: simplified design of fore-and-aft adjuster, improved comfort. 4 cl, 8 dwg
