DEVICE FOR FILTRATION OF LIQUID AND METHOD OF REGENERATION OF FILTER ELEMENTS Russian patent published in 2004 - IPC

FIELD: plants for cleaning liquids and methods of regeneration of filter elements; water supply systems; food- processing industry for cleaning juices, wines and other liquid stuff. SUBSTANCE: proposed device has housing with filter elements mounted inside it, branch pipe for delivery of liquid to be cleaned and branch pipe for discharge of sediment which is fitted with cock and mounted in the bottom. Mounted above housing is hydraulic accumulator made in form of reservoir provided with branch pipe in its lower part; said branch pipe is fitted with cock for discharge of sediment. Tube sheet secured on housing of hydraulic accumulator is provided with pipe unions for securing the filter elements. Filter elements are mounted in form of hexagonal tight packing at porosity of 40 to 80% and distance between them in way of matched diameters no less than 5 mm. Hydraulic accumulator remains perfectly tight during operation. Lower end of branch pipe supplying the liquid to be cleaned extends to distributing grate mounted in housing of device above upper end faces of filter elements, thus ensuring smooth distribution of entering liquid. Mounted in lower part of housing of device under lower end faces of filter elements is plate stabilizing flow of liquid at regeneration of filter elements ensuring smooth runoff of water at washing sediment off filter elements. Method of regeneration of filter elements is effected by counter-flow and by hydromechanical pulse; filter elements are mounted by method of tight hexagonal packing; compression time does not exceed 10 sand time of hydromechanical relief of pressure ranges from 2 to 10 s.
