FIELD: railway transport. SUBSTANCE: invention relates to machine for and method of mounting contact wire and/or carrier cable of overhead contact system of rail track. Machine has frame, reel with wound-on contact wire and guide made for deflection in cross direction relative to machine and provided with guide roller. Roller is made for re-placing in height by means of drive or extending from machine frame. Machine is furnished also with device to receive wire from made for deflection irrespective of guide in cross direction relative to machine by means of drive and provided with wire grip secured on upper end remote from machine frame and height adjuster.
