METHOD FOR MAKING CONSUMABLE PATTERNS Russian patent published in 2004 - IPC

FIELD: machine engineering, namely casting processes with use of consumable patterns. SUBSTANCE: method comprises steps of making pattern from material being powdered NaCl with fraction size 0.01 - 1.6 mm at humidity value 0.1 - 3%; metering pattern material into press- mold in quantity providing manufacture of patterns with porosity degree 1 - 3%; without preliminarily heating pressing pattern material at matching parting surfaces of press-mold; at pressing filling with pattern material all undercuts and cavities of press-mold without short runs; removing pattern out of mold due to dissolving it. Dissolved mass impregnates shell mold without force action upon it. EFFECT: enhanced dimensional and geometrical accuracy of patterns and castings, improved roughness degree of casting surfaces.
