FIELD: instrument making, possibly measuring levels of liquid media, for example in automobile making industry branch. SUBSTANCE: capacitive level gage includes liquid level pickup, reference capacitor, two switching units, amplifier, feedback capacitor, modulating capacitor, driving generator, power amplifier, operational device of processor having control unit, ROM and address-data bus, control bus, digital indicator, first and second compensating capacitors, third switching unit, phase inverter. First outlet of first compensating capacitor is connected to inlet of third switching unit whose control circuit is connected through control bus to operational device. Outlet of third switching unit is connected to inlet of amplifier and to first outlet of second compensating capacitor. Second outlet of second compensating capacitor is connected with outlet of power amplifier. Invention allows to provide measuring range of working frequencies of driving generator independently upon initial capacitance of pickup, to receive measurement results in percentage units of liquid level or in absolute volume units.
