FIELD: transport engineering; antitheft protection. SUBSTANCE: alarm messages with identification sings are sent by hi-jacked vehicle. Coordinates of vehicle are determined by radio direction finding stations with known geographical coordinates and code messages are sent to data processing center. Location of vehicle is determined using conventionally constant information on city infrastructure and traffic flows. Warnings are transmitted to vehicle user and after reception of voice confirmation of fact of hi-jacking, vehicle is blocked, for instance, by paging system and messages are transmitted to fast-action centers nearest to vehicle. In process of searching and intercepting, bearings of vehicle are taken by portable or carried radio direction finding devices. Air observation complex is raised on unmanned carrier and video and infrared chambers carry out viewing of terrain. Video information is displayed in raster image at working places of operators and administrator. Having voice confirmation of fact of hi-jacking, vehicle is detected and identified on rater images, its location is determined and information is transmitted to foot details and patrol car crews. EFFECT: reduced time taken by direction finding of hi-jacked vehicle and increased possibility of interception of hi-jacked vehicle. 5 cl, 3 dwg
