FIELD: marine engineering; dampening energy of dynamic forces arising in buoy rope and mine mooring rope at setting oceanographic and sonar stations and laying moored mines. SUBSTANCE: proposed buffer gear includes movable drum mounted on axle in frame. Clamp secured on drum axle is connected with bitter end of protective chain whose running end is connected with eye splices by means of beckets; one becket is made from caprone and other becket is made from steel rope. Opposite ends of these beckets are connected with buoy rope or mine mooring rope. In initial state, said beckets and chain are wound on drum fitted with friction brake. Length of steel becket is equal to 1.8-2.5 of rate of submergence of freely sinking anchor and ratio of diameters of caprone and steel ropes is equal to 2.5-3.5 at ratio of their lengths of 0.6-0.8.
