FIELD: petrochemical processes. SUBSTANCE: isobutene-containing hydrocarbon blend is processed via interaction of contained therein isobutene with C1 or C2-alcohol in presence of solid catalyst in zone of alkyl-tert-butyl ether synthesis. Unreacted C4- hydrocarbons are stripped from reaction mixture and resulting ether is passed into ether decomposition zone operated with high-acid solid catalyst. Decomposition is conducted at temperature by 10 to 70 C higher that temperature in ether synthesis zone. Conversion of ether does not exceed 60%. Reaction mixture issued from decomposition zone is distilled to form top stream largely containing isobutene, alcohol, and minor part of non- decomposed ether. Remaining higher-boiling product mainly containing alkyltert-butyl ether is either withdrawn from the system or recycled into ether decomposition zone and distilled stream is rectified to give top stream mainly containing isobutene. Higher-boiling residue containing abovementioned alcohol and ether is either recycled into ether synthesis zone and/or subjected to additional rectification at lower pressure. EFFECT: simplified technology. 4 cl, 1 dwg, 7 tbl, 7 ex
