FIELD: organic chemistry, chemical technology. SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the improved method for preparing 2,3-dicarboxy-9,10-anthraquinone that is the parent substance used for synthesis of metal complexes of tetra-9,10-anthraquinone-2,3-porphyrazine that can be used as catalysts in electrochemical reactions. Method involves acylation of compound of benzene row with o-dicarboxylic acid anhydride in the presence of anhydrous aluminum chloride and the following treatment of the prepared intermediate compound with concentrated sulfuric acid and isolation of the end substance. Benzene is used as a compound of benzene row; pyromellitic acid dianhydride is used as o- dicarboxylic acid anhydride to obtain 5-benzoyltrimellitic acid as an intermediate compound that is treated with concentrated sulfuric acid for preparing the end compound. The proposed simple and economy method provides elevating yield of the end compound up to 61%. EFFECT: improved preparing method. 1 ex
