FIELD: metallurgy; production of master alloys containing titanium, silicon and iron. SUBSTANCE: proposed method employs ilmenite concentrate as burden and titanium-containing master alloy as metal melt. After melting ilmenite concentrate, iron is reduced from melt by silicon; part of ferric oxides is reduced by silicon and titanium of master alloy. Larger part of iron melt thus obtained is poured from melting unit under conditions of rotation and oxides of titanium, silicon and iron which were not reduced by silicon are reduced by aluminum of primary slag. Calcium oxide is delivered to slag phase in the amount sufficient for obtaining secondary free-running slag; larger part of titanium-containing master alloy thus obtained is poured from melting unit, after which secondary slag is completely poured out and melting process is renewed on residue of master alloy.
