FIELD: ophthalmology, multifocus lenses. SUBSTANCE: invention is aimed at development of lenses with gradual augmentation of focal power in which undesirable astigmatism of lens decreases in comparison with traditional lenses. This result is ensured thanks to formation of first surface with gradual augmentation of focal power comprising at the beginning at least one first region of maximal, localized, undesirable astigmatism, to formation of second surface with gradual augmentation of focal power incorporating at least one region of maximal, localized, undesirable astigmatism, to integration of first and second surfaces to form compound surface with gradual augmentation of focal power so that first and second regions of maximal, localized, undesirable astigmatism do not match. Process provides for formation of third surface with gradual augmentation of focal power that includes at least one, third region of maximal, localized, undesirable astigmatism. In this case first, second and third surfaces are integrated to form proper compound surface. EFFECT: decreased astigmatism of this lens as compared with traditional lenses. 20 cl, 8 dwg
