FIELD: electrical engineering; batteries assembled of primary and secondary chemical current supplies. SUBSTANCE: battery has plurality of single chemical current supplies or modules of several chemical current supplies interconnected to form series electric circuit; equalizer that functions to equalize voltages across separate chemical current supplies or modules in the course of battery operation; and equalizer control unit. One or more dc power supplies function as equalizer, their outputs being connected in parallel with each separate chemical current supply or module so that their polarities coincide. Each dc power supply is used to feed external power sources including ac supply mains. They may be connected in transformer or no-transformer circuit. Auxiliary chemical current supplies such as fuel cells may be also used as dc power supplies. The latter can be connected to separate chemical current supplies directly or through switches.
