FIELD: medical engineering.
SUBSTANCE: device is produced from flexible polymer material containing magnetic material powder particles uniformly distributed therein. The magnetic material is of samarium-cobalt or neodymium-iron-boron base having particle sizes of 0.5 to 60 mcm. The implant is designed as spherical funnel having longitudinal cut. Its spherical funnel-shaped part repeats eyeball shape and the cut tubular part serves for enveloping the optic nerve. Permanent magnetic field of the implant has variable sign axially symmetric radial or axially symmetric axial pattern and magnetic intensity of 0.4 to 10 mTesla units.
EFFECT: improved and stabilized vision functions; improved diastolic and mean blood circulation speed in the central retinal artery and short ciliary arteries; widened vision field.
