METHOD OF GLASS VIAL CAPPING BY METAL FOIL CAPS Russian patent published in 2004 - IPC

Abstract RU 2231495 C2

FIELD: pharmaceutical, food-canning and other industries, particularly for closing bottles, jars, or similar containers by applying caps.

SUBSTANCE: method involves pressing cap to glass vial neck, seaming cap by deforming cap edges with the use of seaming tool. Seaming tool is formed as rotary rollers. Cap is pressed by moving gripping head together with seaming tool towards fixed glass vial. Mode of outer radial pressure application is selected depending on geometrical parameters of vial neck and seaming head, as well as on vial and cap material strength properties.

EFFECT: increased quality of capping process.
