METHOD FOR AUTOMATIC GROUND MONITORING OF AIRCRAFT AIR-TO-SURFACE GUIDED MISSILE Russian patent published in 2004 - IPC

FIELD: rocketry, applicable for ground tests of missiles designed for destruction of visible ground and surface targets.

SUBSTANCE: the method consists in creation of a bank of specimens for reproduction of real target specimens introduced in the collimating device. This device is so installed that it would be possible to identify the target specimens by the missile homing head, providing a visual contact between the mentioned head and the target specimen. In the course of the tests voltage is applied to the homing head and the missile being monitored, and a program is called in for supply of stimuli for check-up of each missile parameter being monitored, and the responses are measured. The serviceability of the homing head is estimated complete with the mentioned missile with the aid of a picture monitor connected to it. The stability of the process of tracking of the selected point (reticule) on the TV target specimen and the quality of the image are also estimated.

EFFECT: enhanced reliability of the results of the automatic ground monitoring of the missile with a TV homing head.
