SEGMENTED PICK ASSEMBLY Russian patent published in 2004 - IPC

FIELD: power engineering, applicable in steam generators of atomic power stations for cleaning of the steam generator heating surfaces.

SUBSTANCE: the pick assembly, designed for introduction in the chamber of the peak generator, has a hinged support for direction of the pick inside the chamber, this assembly may be kept in a lesser space outside the chamber being in the idle position. According to one modification, the support has left-hand and right-hand side guides formed of a great number of hinged segments, which envelope the pick when it is inside the chamber. The hinges are axially shifted relative one another along the length of the assembly and are turned in the opposite directions so that the guide would form a rigid structure inside the chamber allowing how-ever the peak move in it. In the alternative modification use is made of one guide having a great number of hinge segments. The hinge segments form a rigid joint directly before introduction in the chamber. To provide keeping of them in a lesser space, these segments may be laid in the form of a spiral.

EFFECT: enhanced efficiency of servicing of the steam generator working zones and convenience of keeping of this assembly between service periods.
