FIELD: measurement technology.

SUBSTANCE: device includes interconnected two photo sensors placed at fixed distance one from another, power supply source and chronograph, aids anchoring waveguide between photo sensors, initiation unit. High-sensitivity phototransistors which working range lies in range of wave length of visible radiation of electromagnetic spectrum are utilized as photo sensors, digital electron time meter which is switched on and off by signals from photo sensors responding to luminous radiation of front of detonation wave of waveguide passing above them with the help of initiation unit is employed in the capacity of chronograph. Speed of detonation is determined as average speed of passage by detonation wave of distance between photo sensors.

EFFECT: enhanced precision and reliability of measurements.
