FIELD: medicine, infectology.
SUBSTANCE: in erysipelas-suffering patients during the first 3 d of the disease mentioned one should sample venous blood for biochemical testing the values of oxidant-antioxidant system and detecting the content of lipid hydroperoxides and superoxide dismutase (SOD) in plasma, in serum - total peroxidase activity (TPA), concentration of malonic dialdehyde (MDA) and activity of catalase (C), then one should calculate the value for oxidant-antioxidant coefficient (OAC) by the following formula: where - the values of tested biochemical values in patients, and - those in healthy people. At OAC value being 2.1 U and more one should predict favorable effect due to emoxypin-therapy.
EFFECT: higher efficiency.
