FIELD: converter engineering; dc power transmission substations and miscellaneous high-voltage dc inverters.
SUBSTANCE: proposed inverter that can be used, for instance, in ±500 kV dc power transmission substations and those of higher ratings has two identical six-phase voltage inverters with capacitor banks connected at their inputs, as well as three-winding and three-phase transformer whose valve-side windings are rated at same phase-to-phase voltage and connected in star and in delta. Inverter incorporates two pulse shapers whose outputs are connected to gate electrodes of inverter valves. Six-phase inverters are connected in series. Regulator whose output is connected to two voltage dividers is used to ensure normal functioning of twelve-phase inverter at inequalities of regulation angles β1, β2 of six-phase inverters. One of mentioned voltage dividers is connected between common point of capacitor bank and lower pole of inverter and other one is inserted between inverter poles, output being connected to control-pulse shaper of one of six-phase inverters.
EFFECT: enhanced (twice as high) input voltage of twelve-phase inverter without changing its circuit arrangement.
