FIELD: converter engineering; dc load power supplies.
SUBSTANCE: proposed converter incorporating provision for parallel operation of two anode-circuit phases beyond switching time interval with anode current of its valve components reduced to half the load current (1/2 Id) flowing as long as during up to two thirds of cycle (240 el. degrees) unattainable for all existing ac-to-dc voltage converters has transformer with star-connected secondary phase windings. Each phase winding of transformer is connected to center tap of one of windings of paralleling reactor that has three similar windings wound on single magnetic core. Paralleling reactor leads are connected to like electrodes such as anodes of respective controlled valve components such as thyristors. Thyristor cathodes are interconnected and form one of converter output terminals. Load incorporating, for example, resistor and inductance coil is inserted between this terminal and second one ("o" point).
EFFECT: improved operating conditions of converter valve components.
