FIELD: medicine, in particular, equipment used in orthopedics, surgical dentistry, as well as in planning and preparing of maxillofacial operations and orthopedic treatment.
SUBSTANCE: articulator has lower frame structurally united with two side poles and cross-piece and equipped with incisor platform arranged on its front part, and movable upper frame connected with two joint units movably fixed in upper parts of both poles and adapted to provide for rotating and displacement of upper frame relative to lower frame. Upper frame is equipped with Frankfurt horizontal indicator and incisor pin provided with member contacting with incisor platform on lower frame. Detachable mounting plates are positioned on both frames. Articulator is further provided with joint pin on which upper frame is fixed and on both ends of which joint units are located. Joint units are made in the form of cams positioned perpendicular to joint pin, with centers of cams being offset with respect to axial line of joint pin. Cams have on their outer side cuts-slots with depressions making joint path track over which pins of axle shafts are traveling, said axle shafts having ring with knurled surface and threaded stem ending in said pin. Cams are positioned for rotation in upper parts of both poles. Return mechanism with spring-loaded stem is positioned on joint pin for sliding over semi-circular guide in mid portion of cross-piece, which is provided with support screw contacting with conical slot of platform fixed on return mechanism. Articulator has two additional supports. One support may be folded on cross-piece and other support is positioned on upper frame.
EFFECT: increased rigidity of fixing of joint unit members operating in articulator mode, improved visibility and convenient operation with instrument allowing high-quality dental prostheses to be manufactured.
