FIELD: metallurgy; hot-air furnaces; detachable items for rotating liquid metal in hot-air section.
SUBSTANCE: coil of detachable induction item has unequal turn number on different sides relative to plane crossing axes of longitudinal flues causing asymmetry of dissipation field relative to this axis and, consequently, building up electromagnetic forces with the result that melt is set in single-circuit rotary motion about axes of longitudinal refractory-lined flues. Rotary motion of melt prevents deposition of aluminum oxide on flue walls and enhances transit flow that carries slag away from induction item and contributes to heat and mass transfer between flue section and furnace bath. Such design makes it unnecessary to mechanically clean the flues.
EFFECT: enhanced service life and reliability of induction item.
