UNIT FOR AFTERTREATMENT OF METAL AND SLAG MELTS Russian patent published in 2001 - IPC

FIELD: metallurgy, precisely, equipment for aftertreatment of metal and slag melts, particularly in production of copper, nickel, pig iron and in processing of technogenic wastes. SUBSTANCE: unit has cover with branch pipes. Cover is made for simultaneous covering of chamber for melt and ceramic block. One of branch pipes designed for introduction of vertical part of slag discharger is located along chamber axis. Body of chamber for melt in zone of inductor location is made of cooled pipes made of nonmagnetic material. Chamber lined metal bottom has aperture. Connected to edges of said aperture is doubled detachable channel induction unit so that axis of unit central channel of bottom stone coincides with axis of electromagnetic field of circular magnetic hydrodynamic device. Located in ceramic block in direction of melt discharge is vertical channel to which, at least, one pipe for discharge of molten metal is connected. One branch pipe of cover is connected with vertical channel in ceramic block and covered by easily detachable cover. Slag in slag melt and material of lining in unit may be acid or basic. EFFECT: extended technological potentialities of unit due to reduced harmful temperature difference in lining during unit operation and exclusion of lining contact with slag melt, increases service life of lining. 8 cl, 6 dwg
