FIELD: animal science.

SUBSTANCE: the present innovation deals with feeding a diet containing selenium-bearing preparation DAFS-25 premixed with squash oil cake, moreover, the latter is taken at 0.5 kg/animal daily. Thus, the trials conducted had proved the necessity for applying selenium-bearing preparation DAFS-25 in feeding lactating mares as a prophylactic preparation to increase antioxidant body status. Combined application of squash oil cake containing considerable amount of tocopherols and selenium-bearing preparation DAFS-25 is more efficient and accompanied with considerable increase of selenium and vitamin E content in milk; animal productivity is increased, milk composition is improved by several parameters - the content of main milk components is increased along with its biological valuability and quality of koumiss obtained out of such milk is, also, improved.

EFFECT: higher efficiency of feeding.
