FIELD: rolled stock production, possibly mechanisms for mounting lower rolls of working stands of wide strip and sheet rolling mills.

SUBSTANCE: mechanism includes horizontal screw transmissions mounted in movable wedges arranged between chocks of lower roll and lower cross pieces of housings, Screw transmissions with movable wedges are mounted on common vertically movable bed supporting chocks of lower roll. Lower surface of bed engages with upper horizontal planes of movable wedges whose lower inclined planes rest upon fixed wedges mounted in lower cross pieces of housings. Movable wedges are arranged symmetrically relative to axis of working stand and their inclined planes have slope to side of said axis. Screw is mounted in two lateral radial and two central radial-thrust bearings secured to bed and it passes through openings of movable wedges. At both sides of radial bearings, screw has right and left threads onto which nuts are mounted in end turnings of movable wedges with radial gap between outer cylindrical surface of nuts and inner surface of turnings. End faces of nuts are spherical and they have the same radius but they are inscribed from different centers laid on axis of nuts. End faces of nuts are engaged with similar-radius spherical surfaces of thrust rings placed in bottom of turnings and of lids secured to ends of movable wedges. Nuts are arranged between thrust rings and lids with axial gap. There are semi-cylinder grooves on outer cylindrical surface of nuts and on inner cylindrical surface of turnings; nuts have number of grooves more than that of tunings and multiple to less number of grooves of turnings. Barrel like rollers are arranged in mutually opposite grooves of nuts and turnings. Lids have openings for passing feeders mounted in threaded openings on ends of nuts; said threaded openings are connected with ducts for feeding lubricant to threaded joints of screw and nuts.

EFFECT: enhanced reliability of mechanism, lowered idling time period, improved efficiency of mill, enhanced quality of rolled strips.
