FIELD: reprocessing of technogenic wastes, in particular, sludge of nickelizing, copperizing, chromizing processes and mixed sludge.
SUBSTANCE: method involves mixing galvanic sludge with aluminum powder to produce reaction mixture; providing aluminothermic reduction of oxidized metal sludge in reaction vessel at room temperature without adding of slag-forming substances; obtaining alloy and slag, which may be used for practical application. Aluminum powder with passivated surface is used in the process. Reduction process is carried out in metal reaction vessel. Before mixing with aluminum powder, galvanic sludge is subjected to activation-stabilization annealing process at temperature of 800-1,0000C for 1-3 hours in air.
EFFECT: increased efficiency and profitableness of reprocessing of galvanic sludge and elimination of self-ignition of aluminum powder.
