FIELD: production of chemical fibers, in particular, optical fiber forming equipment.

SUBSTANCE: apparatus has measuring device, fiber diameter setting and regulating device, electric drive for feeding unit, electric drive for receiving unit, feeding unit speed measuring device, speed calculation unit, comparing member, summer, reference voltage source, divider, comparator, acceleration restricting device, controlled keys, differentiation unit, pulse former, memory unit and signal delay unit. Differentiation unit and pulse former are switched in series into control circuit by means of second key to provide for operative transition of system for production of fiber of novel article, which results in reduced losses of raw material. Introduction of memory unit, delay unit, third and fourth keys allows continuous operation of diameter regulation main contour to be provided and diameter stabilization error to be substantially reduced during performing of starting operations and in modes of short-time loss of information from diameter measuring device.

EFFECT: improved quality of product, reduced consumption of raw material owing to increased quick action and precise controlling of fiber drawing process during fiber formation in all modes of operation of process equipment.
