FIELD: mechanical engineering.
SUBSTANCE: self-locking nut has housing, crown, locking ring-shaped member mounted inside it, and flexible protecting cap. The locking member and protecting cap are mounted in the nut for permitting replacement. The crown is provided with through groves. The ribs set in the crown grooves are arranged over the outer diameter of the locking ring. The height of the ribs is less than the height of the grooves. The locking ring is provided with the through slots from the side of the outer face and its face projects above the crown. The inner diameter of the projecting part of the locking ring is less than the part of the inner diameter of the locking ring located inside the crown. The locking ring is fixed in the grooves of the crown via tabs bent from the crown inward. The flexible protecting cap is detachable and is fitted with interference on the crown of the nut for embracing and pressing the outer face part of the locking ring projecting out of the crown.
