FIELD: measuring engineering.
SUBSTANCE: horizontal part of the U-shaped vessel filled with the working fluid is provided with the piston which is an inertia mass. The fiber coils of the interferometer are flush-mounted on the bottom of the vessel. An acceleration displaces the piston, which causes the fluid in the vertical parts of the vessel to be at different levels, with difference being proportional to the value of the acceleration. The fiber-optic interferometer measures the difference of hydrostatic pressures affecting the fiber coils proportional to the acceleration applied.
EFFECT: enhanced accuracy.
