FIELD: electrical engineering; outdoor lighting systems and other lamp servicing devices whose starting voltage is higher than that of supply mains.

SUBSTANCE: proposed device has timing component, pulsed autotransformer whose primary winding leads are connected to capacitor, threshold element shorted out by backward diode, and circuit of series-connected generator and diode connected through one lead to switching unit, to one of supply leads of timing component, to one of leads of threshold element, and to intermediate low-voltage lead of pulsed autotransformer. Timing component has resistors, voltage regulator diodes, diode, counter, and capacitor. Threshold element has switch, thyristor, and capacitor. In addition device has push-button switch. Device is available of two design alternates distinguished by way of connection of push-button switch and incorporates provision for replacing faulty lamp by new one without interrupting and reclosing its power circuit.

EFFECT: enhanced quality of outdoor lights.
