FIELD: agriculture, fodder industry.
SUBSTANCE: the process to produce dry fodder deals with separate reduction of starch-containing and starch-free fodder ingredients, their mixing and moistening of the mixture obtained. Extrusion of starch-containing fodder ingredients should be performed in 2 stages. Primary extrusion of starch-containing ingredients takes place at 120-160 C and 6-17 MPa pressure for 2-15 sec followed by drying the obtained extrudate up to 4-8% moisture value and its reduction up to the size of 0.3-2 mm. At the second stage the obtained extrudate should be mixed with starch-free fodder ingredients, moistened up to 19-24% and extruded at 110-140 C, not higher and at pressure being 2-10 MPa for 2-20 sec followed by drying up to 4-10% moisture value. The method enables to obtain stable high gelatinization and starch destruction degree in the fodder despite ingredients' composition, that leads to high digestibility value and increased nutritive value of fodder obtained at its better palatability.
EFFECT: cheaper fodder manufacturing.
