FIELD: armor-piercing projectiles and method for armor piercing.
SUBSTANCE: the jet projectile designed for armor piercing has the first engine designed for maintaining the crusing speed of the jet projectile, and a booster engine designed for acceleration of the jet projectile from the preset cruising speed to the speed of armor piercing in the final stage of flight of the jet projectile, the projectile is made in the form of an artillery shell and fits for a shot from the barrel of a tank or an artillery gun. The method of armor piercing consists in installation of the jet projectile, including the first engine designed for maintaining the cruising speed of the jet projectile, and booster engine designed for acceleration of the jet projectile from the cruising speed to the speed of armor piercing in the final stage of the projectile flight, bringing the speed of the jet projectile to the cruising one after ejection of this jet projectile from the barrel of the tank or artillery gun, rising of the speed of the jet projectile to the speed of armor piercing and target hitting with the aid of the jet projectile at the speed of armor piercing.
EFFECT: enhanced armor piercing effect of the projectile.
